Mystic Akira Coldstream was the best dog anyone would have ever wanted. She was born June 26th, 1996 and died October 16th, 2009.
Bobbi and I adopted her from a breeder here in PA back in 1996. She was great with all three kids, her pal Jinx (our German Shephard), and even let our 3 cats run around unharmed.
RIP Mystic. We miss you.
I’ve started, run, and eventually sold Internet community sites. I never intended to sell them, but as they got more popular they were more difficult to find the time to run unless I took them over as my full-time job.
The longest running site we had was PWCToday.com. It is a PWC/Jetski community website that we (my wife and I) started in June of 2000. Five years later we found that we had to make a choice of either me quitting my regular job or selling the site. It had grown so large that it needed more time than we had hobby-wise to put into it.
It was and still is the most popular jetski website on the Internet! That’s a great sign from a website – meaning that you could depend on it for daily income and replace your current job with something that you’re excited about! We took the low road and sold it to a company that was in the industry. I was itching to try my hand at other things after seeing how well we did with that one!
Since I can’t seem to get it to format right, i’ve uploaded the PDF file for this article – it’s pretty long…

Set up a simple automated wordpress site! I recently re-did a bunch of my domain names – and planning to do more of the ones I have parked…
By using some Google rss feeds and the wordpress plugin ‘feedwordpress’ I was able to set these up to run automagicly – then I set up 3 adsense spots to get some extra money coming my way instead of my registrar’s way.. this way i’m actually running (at this point) 7 current news sites with absolutely no input from myself.
When the google spider finally gets around to finding them it’ll grab all the current headlines – which is what most people will be searching for in the first place.. and these sites will hopefully place higher up in the search results.
It all sounds like a good idea – let’s see how it pans out!
“Research released this week by Foote Partners shows that some skills continue to pay well, despite the recession. The research firm’s data showed that pay for 60 skills and certifications declined in the first quarter, yet another 46 skills and certifications experience increases in pay during the same time period.”

By using the FirewireGuid line in the iPod’s SysInfo file (see the 160gb ipod article) the just-released 4th gen nano (MB735LL/A – pink 4th gen nano) syncs fine with Linux.
I used Amarok with my existing files.. was able to mount the ipod (Fedora 9 saw and mounted ipod when I plugged in), and Amarok picked it right up. I transfered an album over to it and umounted it.. and am now listening to it from the ipod
Good times.

Most people when loading up their later iPods (gen 6) will notice that while you have it plugged in it appears that everything is going great – Linux recognized your ipod, your songs are transfering, and you’re thinking of which songs you’re going to put into a new playlist…
But then you umount it and your iPod states it has 0 songs.
You don’t believe it though and you scroll around to see where all your songs went – maybe in videos? No, they’re on there, but the iPod won’t tell you about them until you do one magical thing… tell Linux what your firewire guid is…

Ok, it’s not out yet, but you can bet i’ll write up a review the same day it’s available to Linux! The Linux version of Chrome is a much anticipated (and appreciated) application. I currently don’t have a Windows box that I can try the ‘other’ version out on so i’ll sit and wait.. and wait.. until the Linux Chrome comes out.
And so will YOU.
There’s a lot of money going out the window in today’s business model. Everything costs money, and because of the fuel prices, other items are going up in cost as well; ie: Uniforms, deliveries, heating/cooling, etc…
One sure way to save money in your business is to replace your Windows servers with Linux. A good choice for a Linux distribution would be CentOS. It is a free clone of the popular Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating system.
